Voluntary Work in Argentina

"The corner of South America with glaciers and icy deserts, with the great European style cities of Buenos Aires and Cordoba, with the Andes, with footballers and mountaineers, sailors and painters . Argentina."

To live in Argentina

Argentina is the eighth largest country in the world and the second largest country in South America. It offers breathtaking scenery and great diversity in its landscapes. Ranging from its extensive coastline through the vast Pampas, to the Andean mountains and glaciers - there is much to explore!

Argentina combines South American traditions with a strong European influence. It is rich in resources and its population is well educated. However, in recent years, Argentina was faced with high inflation and severe problems of debt. Steadily climbing the road back from depression, Argentina's economy is finally getting back on track.

Teaching & Projects Abroad has projects situated in the town of Unquillo in the province of Cordoba. Unquillo is well known as the home town of tennis-player David Nalbaldian and many famous polo players and artists. The town is an excellent base from which to visit nearby attractions like Che Guevara's house, the Pan de Azucar mountain and many national parks and lakes. Cordoba City (25kms away) is also a popular base for sports and adventure activities.

All volunteers live with local host families and hence gain a far greater insight into Argentinean life and culture.

Argentina offers numerous excellent locations for trekking, climbing, skiing and horse-riding. When you've finished your placement, you can visit the Iguazu Falls, stay on a ranch in the Pampas, or head to Valdes to spot whales, penguins and sea lions.
